On July 5, 2022, SPRIXIN received the appraisal result of the scientific and technological project "Key Technologies and Applications for Improving the Supporting Capabilities of the Systems of Photovoltaic Power Stations" from the China Electricity Council (CEC). The project was jointly completed by State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Co., Ltd. Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, and State Power Rixin Technology Co., Ltd.
The identification team is composed of 9 well-known experts in the industry from Zhejiang University, North China Electric Power University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, National Research Center of State Grid Corporation, North China Electric Power Design Institute, China Electric Power Research Institute, and other units. They conducted a comprehensive review of the project results, which includes listening to reports on the project's technical research, technical and economic analysis, comparative analysis of domestic and foreign similar technologies, scientific, technological novelty search, technology application, etc., reviewing the project's work reports, technical reports, application reports, test reports, and other relevant materials, and addressing inquiries and seminars with the project team on the technical content of the results. In the end, experts from the appraisal committee came to the unanimous conclusion that "the project's achievements in primary frequency regulation control and reactive power voltage balance control of solar power plants have reached an international leading level".
During the period of the "14th Five-Year Plan", Shaanxi's installed capacity of photovoltaic will continue to grow rapidly, and Shaanxi-Wuhan DC and Yan'an-Anhui DC will be put into operation successively. The insufficient support of solar power to the power grid has become an important factor that threatens the safety of DC operations and the consumption of new energy. In order to improve the safety level of the operation of the power grid, to fully tap the control advantages of photovoltaic stations, and to improve the support ability of solar power o the power system, SPRIXIN tackled key problems corporately with Tsinghua University, Shaanxi Power Grid, and Shaanxi Electric Power Research Institute, and came up with several PV-related technologies including the power forecast technology that supports for precise control, power and frequency regulation technologies based on coordinate control of multiple master stations, multi-level inverter phase regulation technology to improve the voltage support capability of the power system during large-scale solar power access, and the group control technology that improves the stability of the UHV AC and DC grid sending.
This appraisal is a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the research results of the project, and it is also an encouragement for SPRIXIN to further its technological exploration in the field of new energy power control for the good of the entire industry.
