With the development of the " Belt and Road", and the progression of the "going out" strategy of China's new energy industry, Chinese new energy projects are increasingly being implemented overseas, further promoting and applicating in these countries Chinese construction, software services, performance indicators, and many other technical standards. In line with the national development plan, SPRIXIN’s global deployment started in 2018. In these four years, our footprints have gone South, from Vietnam and Thailand in Southeast Asia to Ethiopia in Africa; gone West, from Kazakhstan to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and even Norway in Europe; and gone East, to Brazil in South America... Now, dozens of wind power, photovoltaic, and energy storage projects worldwide have used our power forecast, power control, and energy storage EMS systems.
One Step at a Time
The power forecasting system, which is the earliest software product of SPRIXIN to support foreign projects, has gone through repeated running-in and debugging before it could become how it is today. Our system in the Vietnamese project evolved from its initial version that all data services were processed remotely, to the first field version, and to the final version with functions and performances fully matching the application requirements of many countries, advancing one step at a time. SPRIXIN’s power forecast system, after a series of technical iterations and upgrades, is now able to adapt to a variety of interfaces between different manufacturers' systems, Chinese and international, including foreign monitoring systems, weather forecast systems using international numerical systems, and all-sky imagers, whether it is to collect real-time data and release predicted results for foreign monitoring systems, or to match directly with foreign weather forecast systems, or even, to increase multiple sets of data collection and application of the all-sky imagers.
Learning from the Experiences
The practice of overseas projects has also enriched the functions of SPRIXIN's power forecast products in domestic applications. For example, the Vietnamese project's demand for monthly forecasts has extended the original forecast of up to 7 days to 30 days. By meeting the demand, SPRIXIN has gathered research and application experiences necessary for China’s new standard in 2022, which requires extending the medium and long-term forecast to 10 days. For another example, in the Dubai project, SPRIXIN conducted applied research on the cloud image data, cloud amount, and cloud position and movement data provided by the all-sky imager, which laid the foundation for us to apply the all-sky imager to our PV forecasting algorithm in domestic projects to improve the accuracy of ultra-short-term power forecasting, and the reporting accuracy of spot power trading.
China Standards
With the advancement of the “Belt and Road”, it is not only SPRIXIN that has developed. In the many foreign projects we have participated in, all the required functions and technical specifications of power forecasting listed, from tender documents to technical liaison meetings, reveal signs of China standards: the communication interface between systems, the specification of the point table of collected data, and the requirements for reporting data results, etc., are primarily consistent with China’s general standards. This fully demonstrates the maturity and technological foresight of China's new energy industry in the global field.
When wind power in Dabancheng, Xinjiang lights up the night in Istanbul, the "Belt and Road" initiative proposed by China brings the country closer to the world. On this path of common prosperity, globally, SPRIXIN expands, learns, and improves with the new energy industry, and domestically, employs the experience learned from foreign projects in product development and application for domestic projects. SPRIXIN will not stop the pace of hard work and innovation in the dedication to fostering the low-carbon transformation of global green energy.
