The energy storage market has grown strongly in recent years. According to CNESA's estimates, China's cumulative installed capacity of battery energy storage systems will reach 55 GW in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of about 55%.

Rapid growth has increased the need for enhanced regulatory approaches to energy storage and rich avenues for profitability. In China, the current main profit scenarios of battery energy storage plants include participation in the electricity market and the ancillary service market.

Stored Energy in Electricity Market
To help energy storage participate in the electricity market, SPRIXIN integrated the iEMS with the auxiliary decision-making platform for power trading, making the combined application of iEMS+ power trading. SPRIXIN’s iEMS, based on the smart strategy terminal and the cloud, takes into consideration the power trading rules and estimated market prices of electricity when making charging and discharging strategies. Through processing and optimizing real-time data including transaction data, market data, weather information, etc., the system estimates T-1 and real-time electricity market prices. Then, according to the peak-to-valley price difference, the cost of electricity, and the status of the BESS, the iEMS calculates the charging and discharging strategy that maximizes the benefits of energy storage in power trading, and completes the declaration of the day-ahead and real-time strategies.

Stored Energy in Ancillary Service Market
In terms of the ancillary service market, battery energy storage systems are often used in peak regulation and frequency regulation to keep the grid safe and stable. SPRIXIN’s iEMS is placed in the electrical relay room of the booster station to monitor and control the BESS by collecting real-time data from battery packs and PCS. Whatsmore, it can be seamlessly linked with systems such as power forecasting, AGC/AVC, primary frequency regulation, and rapid voltage regulation for multi-system coordinated management and control. SPRIXIN iEMS meets all the requirements of the grid dispatch to receive and execute active and reactive power regulation instructions.

With the rapid development of the industry, energy storage has shifted from a purely practical tool for electric energy storage to a more economical and profitable tool. SPRIXIN iEMS will be a powerful boost to the overall operating efficiency and benefits of energy storage stations.
